Real Madrid sign Borja Garcia from Cordoba

Cordoba have confirmed the sale of midfielder Borja Garcia to Real Madrid for a reported €1.5 million.

The Segunda Division outfit made the announcement on Tuesday and it is believed that the Rayo Vallecano youth team product has agreed a four-year contract with Los Blancos.

The Football Association has announced Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has been charged with improper conduct over comments he posted on Twitter after the John Terry racism trial.

Faultless Hamilton returns to the title fight Phew. Lewis Hamilton had to win in Hungary and he just about did. It was the closest of close-run things with the McLaren pushed to the brink by the two Lotuses, finally crossing the line just a solitary second ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Though not one of the most exciting or dramatic victories of Hamilton's F1 career, it was nonetheless one of the most impressive - in part because undramatic victories are not usually part of his feted repertoire but mainly because of the amount of pressure, both external and internal, which he had to withstand in order to claim the only result sufficient to revitalise his faltering title chances.

The external pressure was apparent and appreciable from the outset, with Romain Grosjean pegging Hamilton's lead to a couple of car lengths through the first half of the race before Raikkonen took up the Lotus baton to hound the McLaren to the line. Tottenham expect to sign Adebayor in next 48 hours

Negotiations had stalled over Adebayor’s £170,000-a-week wage demands but Spurs believe they have made a breakthrough and are increasingly confident of concluding the move.

The Londoners will pay Adebayor a £5m signing-on fee and have been asking City to subsidise the Togo international striker’s wages, with the Premier League champions desperate to offload the former Arsenal man to free up wages and space in their squad.

Bale blasts 'coward' Adam

Gareth Bale has labelled Charlie Adam "a coward" after being left on crutches by a tackle from the Liverpool midfielder.

It is the second time Bale has been hurt by an Adam challenge, the latest coming during the goalless draw between the Reds and Spurs in Baltimore.

Mancini - Tevez won't change

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini does not think it will ever be possible to change Carlos Tevez's attitude but believes the striker may be learning.

The Premier League champions were almost derailed last season after Tevez went AWOL following a much-publicised bust-up with Mancini.

Doumbia deal for Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers have beaten Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion to the signing of midfielder Tongo Doumbia on a season-long loan.

The Mali international has moved to Molineux from French clubRennes with a view to a permanent deal as Stale Solbakken makes his third senior signing of the summer.

Doumbia had also been linked with Premier League West Brom but he trained with Wolves, who were relegated last season, on Sunday and could now make his debut in Tuesday's friendly against Shrewsbury. here

Real asking too much for Joselu Hoffenheim shocked by Spanish club's asking price

Hoffenheim are refusing to meet Real Madrid's 'inexplicable' €8-€10million (£6.2m-£8.2m) asking price for forward Joselu.

The 22-year-old, who has played for Spain's Under 21s in the past, has been building a reputation playing for Real's B team in the domestic third division.

Joselu is under contract until June 2014, but he is attracting interest from Hoffenheim and the Bundesliga club could be prepared to offer him first-team football. here
